Mr Nicolas Enrique Labra Cataldo

Nicolás is a PhD researcher in Tyndall Centre for Climate Change research, at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on the evaluation of circular economy policies through a life cycle thinking approach to promote a just transition towards sustainability in developing countries.

Dr Saeed Reza Mohandes

Saeed Reza Mohandes is a lecturer in the Civil Engineering and Management Department at the University of Manchester. He has been applying leading-edge AI-based techniques and digitisation (e.g., deep learning and machine learning techniques, fuzzy logics, meta-heuristics algorithms, probabilistic techniques, BIM and Digital Twin, Internet of things, etc.) to the realm of construction project management, including but not limited to, Construction Safety, Green Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Management, Building Energy Efficiency, and Facility Management.

Dr Diarmaid Clery

Diarmaid joined the Tyndall Centre in 2019 upon completing his PhD at the University of Leeds. He now works as part of the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre (IDRIC), working with stakeholders from CCUS clusters and the UK public to establish a social license for industrial decarbonisation, carbon capture storage (CCS) and bioenergy with CCS (BECCS).The overall aim of his research is to understand the interdisciplinary issues related to tackling climate change, including decarbonisation and greenhouse gas removal (GGR).

Prof Cise Unluer

Cise Unluer is a Professor of Engineering Net Zero at the University of Manchester. She leads the Manchester CREATES (Concrete Materials, Resource Efficiency and Advanced Technology for Sustainability) team, whose mission is to contribute to a Net Zero goal in the built environment and circular economy through the development of sustainable, innovative and functional construction products with high performance, durability and efficiency.

Dr-Claire-Hoolohan

Dr Claire Hoolohan

Claire is a Research Fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. She is a social scientist working with social practice theories in the field of sustainable production and consumption. Her research explores the social dimensions of global challenges such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, low-carbon food and water use.

Dr-Joe-Blakey

Dr Joe Blakey

Joe is an Environmental and Political Geographer whose work focuses on examining the political and social challenges of human-environment relations and post-carbon futures. His research largely focuses on three often interrelated agendas: (i) furthering post-foundational political theories within Human Geography, (ii) contributing to literature on the politics of aesthetics, and (iii) understanding the role of experts in shaping political and social change.

Ms Elisabeth Allen

Elisabeth joined the University of Manchester for her PhD in 2021, after working as a microplastics researcher and analysist upon completion of her masters in Oceanography, specialising in anthropogenic environmental pressure and pollution control. Her PhD explores reducing microfibre pollution released from textile washing and sustainable textile production, with a keen interest in upstream solutions.

Dr-Claudia-Henninger

Dr Claudia Henninger

Claudia is a Reader in Fashion Marketing Management and teaches a number of units at BSc and MSc level in the Department of Materials relating to fashion marketing, online marketing, consumer behaviour, and sustainability. Claudia gained her PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2015, which focused on ‘Corporate Identity in the Context of the UK’s Green Slow-Fashion Industry and Micro-Organisations’.

Dr Okechukwu Okorie

Okechukwu is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering Design for Sustainability and a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Manchester. His RAEng research is focused on modelling a hybrid top-down/bottom-up, novel circular economy-modelling approach for high value manufacturing to build the evidence-base needed for net zero manufacturing. He joined the University of Manchester from the University of Exeter in 2024, where he was Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Manufacturing. With a PhD from Cranfield University, some of his research areas includes; smart remanufacturing, circular business models, lifecycle assessment, simulation and modelling of manufacturing systems.
